Volunteering for the Red Knights!

Parent Participation is Mandatory
As an entirely volunteer-run organization, Norchester Red Knights provides an experience that is not just for the players, but for the entire family.

Parents are included in every aspect of our program — they are on our Board and many are involved as coaches, team parents, fundraising, marketing and more. We are a community and it has always been our belief that the more a family participates, the more fulfilling the experience is for their child.

Because volunteers are an essential part of making our program a success, we require that parents actively be involved with the program or with their team. A $100 volunteer bond is REQUIRED from ALL families. There are many different fun ways to volunteer your assistance!

During the season, each family must volunteer at least a minimum of:

  • 4 hours per registered Tackle player/cheerleader

  • 2 hours per registered Flag football player/cheerleader

We highly recommend that you help more if you can!

Volunteer Opportunities
As soon as we receive our game schedule for the season, we will have the parent volunteer schedule for:

  • Team/Squad Parent

  • Concession Stand

  • "Chain Gang" (assistants to the linesman)

  • Game Day Set-up (morning of games)

  • Post-Game Tear Down (after games)

  • Homecoming Committee

  • Awards Banquet Committee

  • Fundraising Committee

  • Business Sponsorships Committee

Sign up for positions and times that are convenient for your schedule and family requirements.  If you do not sign up to volunteer, you may be assigned time slots for home game days. It is your responsibility to check the schedule and ensure that you attend your shift.

Note that for game day scheduling, we recommend you take a shift for the time slot before or after your child’s game so you do not miss them playing.  Most parents arrive early to bring their child for warm-ups, so it’s a great way to get your service in and not miss any of the fun!
